COVID-19: What’s Happening with the SAT Test?

West-A-EEP-COVID-19-SAT-Test

There has been much confusion around the SAT Test given the recent cancelations of public events in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

HERE ARE THE FACTS:

  1. The Educational Testing Service (ETS) – otherwise known as the “College Board”- has already announced (on its website) the cancellation of the March 14th and May 2nd SATs.

  2. The June 6th SAT Test has NOT been canceled and will proceed as previously scheduled.

  3. The April 4th ACT was also canceled. The next ACT will be held on June 13th and July 18th.

  4. The recent Federal cancellation of State requirements for “Standardized Testing” at the K-12 school did not apply to the SAT or ACT.

In view of the above, you should have received a refund for the March & May SAT and the April 13th ACT.  If not, call the SAT or ACT Customer Service Offices and let them know.  The SAT Number is (866) 756-7346; The ACT Number is (319) 337-1270. In addition, you will need to immediately register your youth for the June SAT or June/July ACT.  The registration does NOT automatically roll over if the earlier test was cancelled.

Finally, on a limited basis, West Angeles Education & Enrichment Program is offering

ONLINE-DISTANCE SAT PREP IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE PRINCETON REVIEW™ TO REPLACE OUR PREP FOR THE JUNE SAT.

The pricing is very affordable and the class starts in mid-April.  For registration information, please email cmartinez.eep@westa.org and/or see the schedule.  If you have a more specific or personal question, you can email our director at jwilson@westa.org.
