Charles Drew University presents a rewarding opportunity to 10th, 11th and 12th graders.
ABOUT
”Opportunity Scholars Public Health Academy (PHA) is an enrichment program in which 10th, 11th and 12th grade High School Students interested in improving community health through public health and mental health professions develop skills to prepare them for higher education and build networks within health professions. Students accepted into this program participate in educationally enriching experiences that includes a paid 4-week summer program, internship, mentorship, tutoring, mental health course curriculum, CDU lectures, community engagement, collegiate level course, SAT Preparation and college preparation courses. Some of the benefits of the program include waived application fee, networking and mentoring opportunities, guaranteed priority admission for 12th grade students who meet the minimum requirements and early admittance for 10th and 11th grade students.”

The PHA is scheduled for:
Tuesday July 9, 2019 through Saturday August 3, 2019
at Charles Drew University
Requirements:
Student Official Transcripts with application
Student photo with application
4-week summer commitment from Tuesday July 9, 2019 -
Saturday August 3, 2019 from
9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Students will be notified of acceptance by May 15, 2019.
During the fall semester school year, students will be paired with a mentor and are required to complete a paid internship.
Students who exemplify perfect attendance in Summer Program will earn 1,000 stipend.
