High School Music Scholarship Competition by Glam Inc.

An amazing opportunity for any student, musically inclined, to receive a scholarship.

Competition Guidelines:

  1. The music performed is to be selected from published vocal or instrumental music in either a
    Contemporary (i.e., rhythm and blues, Broadway, jazz, etc.) or Classical. No Gospel, Spoken Word, or Rap.
     

  2. Performance should not exceed six (6) minutes.
     

  3. The applicant is responsible for providing his/her accompaniment (Live or Electronic). However, if you will require assistance locating an accompanist or if you will be using electronic accompaniment, please indicate this on your application.
     

  4. Once your selection is submitted, it cannot be changed.
     

  5. Music must be performed from memory.
     

  6. Contestants must be dressed in either concert attire, formal attire representing your ethnic culture,
    or choose one of the following:

    • Dress/Skirt - Hems and/or slits must be no higher than the knee

    • Blouse/Top - Must be waist length with a business-appropriate neckline

    • Suit or Sportcoat w/dress pants (no jeans), shirt and tie

    • Closed or open-toe dress shoes. No boots, slides, or athletic shoes
       

  7. Previous First Prize winners are not eligible to compete again.
     

  8. Education Requirement: Applicants must be enrolled in high school and in good academic
    standing (i.e., 2.5 GPA or higher).
     

  9. Educational Goals: Applicants must plan to continue formal education upon high school completion. (NOTE: Seniors should have proof of acceptance to either a two-year or four-year
    College).
     

  10. Application: Applicants must complete the enclosed official Application Form, which a parent or a guardian must sign. 
     

  11. Application Fee: A non-refundable $10 application fee payable to G.L.A.M., Inc., NANM, is required.
    Note: Paypal (Credit Card/Debit Card), Zelle, and Checks are accepted.
     

  12. The applicant and the parent or guardian must complete and sign a Photograph, Audio & Video Release (PAVR) Form.
     

  13. First, second, and third place winners are required to be available to perform a musical selection of choice in the Spotlight on Youth Talent Showcase Concert on Sunday, December 15, 2024
     

  14. The completed Application Form, the Photograph, Audio, and Video Release Form, and the Application fee MUST BE RECEIVED by the Scholarship Committee by May 25, 2024 - NO EXCEPTIONS.
